Interactive Transformative Imagery

Transformative Imagery opens a doorway to your inner landscape, where imagination becomes a catalyst for change and self-understanding. Through this approach, you can access powerful inner images that encourage healing, creativity, and balance. NeuroTransform works with a network of skilled imagery practitioners and can connect you with the right guide to help uncover insights, visualize new possibilities, and cultivate lasting transformation.

What is Transformative Imagery?

Transformative Imagery, also known as guided imagery, is a gentle but powerful tool that leverages the impact that conscious and unconscious images have on your wellbeing. It involves focusing your attention internally in order to access pictures, impressions, dreams, intuitions, and other insights offered by your deepest self. Transformative Imagery allows you to gain a better understanding of yourself and as a result, cultivate the tools that lead to a more fulfilled life.

Guided imagery is among the complementary mind–body practices used by adults, with scientific evidence supporting its use for stress reduction, anxiety support, pain coping, and performance. You might have heard how top athletes visualize the way they want to ski a race or complete a dive before they compete. This is a common way that people use imagery to achieve their goals and tap into a heightened awareness, resilience, clarity and receptiveness. How does it work? When one imagines an object, scenario, or interaction with others, neurons fire in the same manner as when he or she truly has the experience. When an individual imagines or rehearses positive outcomes, this creates changes in the brain, producing a new template for a desirable result.

What happens in a Transformative Imagery session?

During the Transformative Imagery session, the coach will guide you through a brief relaxation exercise, intended to promote comfort and relieve tension in the mind and body. After the relaxation introduction, you will be invited to engage in the imagery process; to ignite dialogue, the coach will begin to ask a series of open-ended questions. These prompts may recruit senses such as sound, smell, touch, and vision as well as the qualities of the environment. The coach will then facilitate a process that supports you in discovering and exploring your own imagery and may use other techniques to further encourage self-reflection and transformation.

After the imagery session, you will have the option to talk about your experience, and an action plan may be established to apply learnings and/or continue an imagery practice.

Who would benefit from Transformative Imagery?

Virtually anyone can benefit from guided imagery. Generally speaking, our clients come to us to help cope with physical, cognitive or emotional challenges, to achieve peak physical or mental performance, or to promote general wellness or spiritual growth. We offer specific guided imagery techniques according to the goal at hand.

These same principles also guide NeuroTransform’s meditation and visualization videos—including those for emotional healing, self-worth, resilience, pain relief, and performance.

Imagery for Pain Relief

This type of guided imagery may be appropriate for working through something you find difficult or painful, or if you are seeking healing, insight, or personal transformation. Somatic experiences may be explored in a supportive way that empowers you to connect with your own inner healer.

Imagery for Optimal Performance

Often used by top athletes, this can also be applied to anyone seeking to enhance their performance. For example, this could apply to business professionals, artists, musicians and actors. Imagery for optimal performance helps to create a vivid experience of the desired outcome. It helps “grease the wheels” so you can practice the correct techniques and strategies for achieving the optimal performance and desired results.

Empowerment Imagery

This helps you to elicit a quality that you would like to have but are struggling with, such as courage, peace, grounded-ness or patience during a stressful time. This often supports themes like self-worth, emotional healing, or breaking unhelpful patterns. This type of imagery may also be used to aid in a lifestyle change that may ultimately contribute to greater happiness and well-being.

Decision-making Imagery

This form of guided imagery helps those experiencing stress and anxiety due to professional or personal conflicts. The decision-making imagery allows you to explore two images separately and then discuss the two parts or paths with the coach. This process of exploration and conversation helps establish clarity and call forth the part that is most appropriate for that moment in time.
