NeuroTransform Referral Network – Eligibility & Values
To participate in the NeuroTransform Referral Network, coaches, guided imagery practitioners, and other practitioners must meet the following criteria. NeuroTransform works with coaches and practitioners who use a neuro‑informed, mind–body–spirit approach to behavior and lifestyle change, and who align with the Eligibility & Values below. By neuro‑informed, we simply mean that your work is guided by a basic understanding of how the brain and nervous system relate to stress, habits, and behavior change.
Training and credentials
Completion of recognized training in integrative health, health coaching, or a related field from an accredited program (for example, programs such as the California Institute of Integral Studies Integrative Health Studies and related certificates).
And/or eligibility for, or completion of, a nationally recognized health‑coaching credential such as National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC‑HWC).
Scope of practice and ethics
Commitment to practice within one’s professional scope of practice and to avoid representing services as medical or psychological treatment unless appropriately licensed.
Agreement to refer clients to licensed medical or mental health professionals when needs fall outside the practitioner’s training or scope.
Responsibility for one’s own professional decisions, services, and compliance with applicable laws and ethical codes.
Alignment with NeuroTransform values
Client‑centered, compassionate care – honoring each person as resourceful, whole, and the expert on their own lived experience.
Neuro‑informed perspective – recognizing that the brain and nervous system play an important role in stress, habits, and behavior change, and using this awareness to support gentle, sustainable change rather than pushing or forcing.
Integrative, mind–body–spirit approaches – drawing from both science‑informed perspectives and contemplative or wisdom traditions in a way that is grounded, respectful, and practical for everyday life.
Culturally aware, compassionate, and inclusive practice – aiming to create a welcoming, respectful space for people from a variety of backgrounds and identities, with sensitivity to trauma and lived experience.
Collaborative, strengths‑based, behavior‑change‑oriented coaching – focusing on realistic, sustainable shifts that support wellbeing for each individual in the context of their real life.
Guided imagery practitioners
Guided imagery practitioners in the NeuroTransform Referral Network must have completed specialized training or a certificate in guided or transformative imagery from an accredited institution or recognized program (for example, the Transformative Imagery / Guided Imagery certificate offered through the Integrative Health Studies program at California Institute of Integral Studies, or comparable training programs).
Practitioners agree to use guided imagery within their professional scope of practice, to be attentive to contraindications, and to refer clients to licensed medical or mental health professionals when imagery work touches on issues that require clinical treatment.
NeuroTransform reviews each applicant’s training, credentials, experience, values, and areas of focus before including them in the Referral Network and reserves the right to decline or discontinue participation at its discretion.
Who is behind NeuroTransform?
NeuroTransform was founded by Amy Flaherty, M.A., who holds a master’s degree in Integrative Health Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), along with health coaching and transformative imagery certificates from CIIS. Amy brings a neuro‑informed, mind–body perspective to behavior and lifestyle change, and the NeuroTransform Referral Network reflects this background, with an emphasis on clear scope of practice, ethical coaching, and realistic, sustainable change.
